CONCORD - As part of the ‘ExtenZe Local Hero’ program, 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie-of-the-Year driver Kevin Conway is stepping up to assist the Concord Police Department in the unsolved double homicide case of two Sundrop Bottling Company employees.
Conway’s No. 87 ExtenZe Toyota will carry an image of Barnhardt and Noles along with CPD contact and reward information on the car’s deck lid for the Dollar General 300 Miles of Courage NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday, October 14, 2011.
At approximately 10:00 AM Friday June 13, 2008, Donna Barnhardt and Darrell Noles were murdered during an apparent robbery attempt at the Sundrop Bottling Company on Branchview Drive in Concord, NC. Barnhardt was an employee at the bottling company and Noles was there to apply for a job. Both victims were shot in the office area of the business.
